This old object was sourced at an auction of rare collectors items being sold by private sellers.

It is an old textile pulley hand-carved from wood. These pulleys are commissions works, created in traditional style, for functional use rather than ritual. The carving of a pulley symbolises the quality of the weavers work, the more detailed the more skilled. These pulleys acquire a beautiful patina from years of handling and use.
