Peul bowls have been hand-carved from indigenous wood by women who live in Chad, Central North Africa. Peul bowls are often associated with distinct and elegant wood carving that evokes a tortoise shell aesthetic or simple bowls with rustic details. 

Authentic, vintage wooden bowls from global communities are increasingly rare to curate and would have been used to prepare and serve food or used for storage for many years. This has created wonderful patina and ageing of the wood. The bowls have been lovingly repaired with traditional techniques in keeping with their original authenticity.
